Buenos Aires, November 27 (NA) -- The Head of Government of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, was close to securing the approval of the 2026 Budget this Thursday after negotiations with La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and other allied blocs. The session, expected to be lengthy with a recess that lasted until 8:30 PM, also includes the treatment of the Fiscal Code, the Tax and Customs Law, and the creation of the local Penitentiary Service. According to the Argentine News Agency, the agreement to secure the votes involves a package of economic and political measures, including the discussion on the renewal of authorities and the presidency of the Legislature's commissions. The ruling bloc obtained the support of LLA, the Radical Civic Union, the Civic Coalition, and Public Confidence. The Union for the Patria faction, led by Claudia Neeira, anticipated its rejection of the project and questioned the lack of direct dialogue with the ruling bloc. The understanding between PRO and LLA includes tax exemptions and reductions. Among the agreed points, the exemption for Gross Income Tax on Investment Funds is expanded, and relief is provided for monotributistas and small taxpayers by extending the bonus of the Simplified Regime to de facto and irregular partnerships of up to three partners.
